41 walkie-talkies seized from Mohammadpur, 2 arrested
Two people have been arrested in Humayun Road area of Mohammadpur along with 41 unauthorized walkie-talkies seized from a security solutions provider.
The operation was jointly conducted by the Enforcement and Inspection Team of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) and Rapid Action Battalion-3 (RAB-3) at midnight on Saturday on the basis of secret information as part of BTRC's regular operations.
According to the BTRC, the detainees were said to have been running unauthorized walkie-talkies for a long time. Legal action is being taken against them as per Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulation Act 2001, (Amended-2010).
